Dover Ruling: Is ID Science?
The court came to the decision that "Intelligent Design" is in no way science.
After a searching review of the record and applicable caselaw, we find that while ID arguments may be true, a proposition on which the Court takes no position, ID is not science. We find that ID fails on three different levels, any one of which is sufficient to preclude a determination that ID is science. They are: (1) ID violates the centuries-old ground rules of science by invoking and permitting supernatural causation; (2) the argument of irreducible complexity, central to ID, employs the same flawed and illogical contrived dualism that doomed creation science in the 1980's; and (3) ID's negative attacks on evolution have been refuted by the scientific community. As we will discuss in more detail below, it is additionally important to note that ID has failed to gain acceptance in the scientific community, it has not generated peer-reviewed publications, nor has it been the subject of testing and research. Kitzmiller, et al. v. Dover School District, et al. p.64
Eat that one creationists! I've wondered all along how any reasonable person could make an honest conjecture that scientific theories can be based on the supernatural.
Oh yea, notice that ID employs the same flawed techniques that creationism does. Perhaps because it's creationism repackaged?! Current Mood: cheerful

A Win For Evolution
Well, the Kansas thing stink but at least we got Dover back.
The Wedge Strategy
is to place stealth candidates in school boards across the nation. The board members then use their position to promote creationism with a preppy new name in schools. They hope to indoctrinate high schoolers with pseudo-science because it fails in academia. They have published no studies to peer-reviewed science journals because their hypotheses cannot be tested with the Scientific Method.
Luckily, once voters realize what's going on they remove these individuals and put decent people back in. Public schools are there to educate, not indoctrinate.
Kansas Board - 6 Dumb
I just found out that the Kansas Board of Education voted
6-4 to approve anti-evolution language in their science classes.
All six of those who voted for the new standards were Republicans. Two Republicans and two Democrats voted no.
"This is a sad day. We're becoming a laughingstock of not only the nation, but of the world, and I hate that," said board member Janet Waugh, a Kansas City Democrat.
You got that right; Kansas just landed itself on the map as the home of Neandertals!
Meanwhile, check out this gem!
Supporters of the new standards said they will promote academic freedom. "It gets rid of a lot of dogma that's being taught in the classroom today," said board member John Bacon, an Olathe Republican.
Dogma is defined in WordNet is
a religious doctrine that is proclaimed as true without proof.
What proof does
have? Absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, the Scientific Theory of Evolution has many decades of peer-reviewed experimentation and has become the cornerstone of modern Biology. And these 6 Republican idiots in Kansas want
for their high-school
Using these moron's standards we should be teaching geo-centrism in astronomy.
Perhaps the citizens of Kansas will do us all a favor and get rid of their neandertals on the board of education next election cycle.

Doping for Jesus
Remember that woman that was held hostage by the Atlanta fugitive? Remember how she convinced the world that she talk to him about her love for Jesus and convinced him to turn himself in.
Well, it turns out the Jesus she was speaking of was her Hispanic drug dealer!http://www.wtopnews.com/index.php?nid=104&sid=577679
For real though, who gives meth to an out of control criminal? Weed is such a better choice because at worse they'll mellow out, at best they'll pass out. It could have been worse though, I'd prefer a meth-head holding me hostage to a crackhead.

Christians love to claim they are loving, caring people who accept everyone and "reject the sin not the sinner." Meanwhile, they claim they are persecuted throughout the United States. Yea, they actually believe they are persecuted. If you don't believe me then check out this
I find it quite interesting they think this while persecuting everyone who doesn't agree with them. What hypocrites.
For example, just last Friday a girl was expelled from her Christian school because her parents are lesbians.
"Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, the girl's biological mother.
Stob wrote that school policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship," The Los Angeles Times reported in Friday's edition.Source
Now that's some Christian love right there: "We don't like your parents, get out."
